Rule of Thirds

The rule of thirds is a rule that most photographers use in their artwork. This rule is simple, a picture is divided into nine parts by two equally spaced horizontal lines as well as two equally spaced vertical lines, important things should be put in between the lines. While using the rule of thirds, there should be points of interest in your picture.

Black&White

The points of interest in this picture is the time in black and white colors I took the picture this way because I wanted the clock to not only to show the time, but to add emphasis on the big hand. I used the rule of thirds by doing my best to have the horizontal line going as close to the little hand and the two as possible.

This is my favorite picture because of the angle that I shot it as well as the interesting pattern, and how the black and white makes a spinning effect. In this picture because of the patterns, i wanted the black spots to be in the horizontal lines as well.

The points of interest in this picture are the designs are the black and white designs on the backpack. The rule of thirds in this picture i thought was pretty easy, because i felt like this picture was pretty even with all 9 lines.

The main points of this picture is how the piano keys look like they are coming straight at you. I used the rule of thirds in this picture, by having the keys directly in the center.

The light and dark parts of this picture make it interesting also the angle it was shot. The way I used the rule of thirds in this picture was by having the book below me yet still keeping it right on the edge of the lines.

Not only do the words pop at you in this picture but the way the sign looks is also interesting. I wanted to shot this picture because it has so many interesting qualities such as words color etc. I used the rule of thirds in this picture by shooting this picture overhead.

This phone is interesting because of the contrast as well as the color. I shot this picture using the rule of thirds by just shooting it plainly and evenly.

This picture is a strong image in general, but the black and white mix of colors makes it stand out that much more. I used the rule of thirds in this picture by shooting it up close and making the picture even with the lines

This picture may seem simple but the way the pen stands out from the backround, is what makes it pop if you look closely at the different color whites then you can easily see what I mean. I tried to use the rule of thirds by shooting this picture of to the side and putting it right between my imaginary vertical lines.

This car is another favorite because of the angle its shot at as well as the black and white colors of the car. I used the rule of thirdsby standing off to the side and trying to put the car slightly to the right making it perfectly alligned.
